New Website! I'm still working away on the website, making improvements, learning as I go and figuring out how to make shopping with us easier for everyone. There's a lot happening behind the scenes, and while I certainly don't have everything figured out yet, I'm making progress every day. Thanks for your patience and for being part of what I'm building!

🌿 WOW! Our first couple Make Your Own Medicine workshops sold out quick! That's great!
I think that says a lot about how ready people are to learn more about natural medicine, understand the plants growing around us and gain the knowledge to start making their own remedies at home. There's clearly a growing interest in becoming more knowledgeable and self-reliant when it comes to our health.
I've added one last workshop date to give more people a chance to join us.
We'll be exploring the basic principles of natural medicine, traditional remedies and how to make your own preparations at home. Everyone will make their own herbal tincture to take home.
Only a few spots available, so grab your tickets before this one fills up too! 🌱

Fire Cider – Traditional Herbal Tonic Fire Cider is a traditional herbal preparation made by infusing apple cider vinegar with powerful ingredients like horseradish, ginger, garlic, onions and hot peppers. Known for its bold, warming flavour and fiery kick, Fire Cider has been used for generations as a traditional seasonal tonic, especially during the colder months. Packed with naturally occurring plant compounds, it's a wonderful way to incorporate these ingredients into your daily routine. Enjoy a small amount on its own, dilute it in water, or add it to salad dressings, marinades and other recipes. A little goes a long way!

BLOG 3 OF 5: THE PRICE OF OUR DEPENDENCE
What if the very systems we've built to fight poverty are actually helping perpetuate it? What if billions in public funding, charitable donations and government programs are creating an economy where managing hardship is rewarded while the independent businesses capable of creating real economic security struggle to survive?
We've been conditioned to believe there isn't enough. Not enough food, money, opportunity or resources. And apparently, the answer is always another program, another institution and another billion dollars. But what if lack is the greatest illusion of all?
In Blog 3 of 5, I'm following the money, questioning the business of dependence and exploring what happens when we stop waiting to be rescued and start building AN ECONOMY OF OUR OWN.

Meat Sale
This weekend, we’re making it a little easier to fill your freezer with meat you can feel good about serving your family - and have us delivered.
Choose from locally raised beef, pork, chicken, sausage, and our popular meat bundles—all from farmers who care about raising food the right way.
This isn’t anonymous meat shipped from across the country. It’s real food from local farms, raised with pride and brought to our community by people who genuinely care about quality.
Whether you’re planning for summer barbecues, stocking the freezer before prices climb again, or simply looking for better-tasting meat, now is a great time to buy.
Real food. Real meat. Local farms.
Sale ends in three days, and many items are available only while quantities last. ❤️

We're thrilled to welcome Harvest Ridge Farm in Ridgeway to the Small Scale Farms family! They've brought us a delicious selection of locally made pickles, canned beets and sauerkraut. And I have to say, their bread and butter pickles are the BEST I've ever had! Another great local farm, more amazing products on our shelves and another reason to keep supporting the people growing and
making our food right here in Niagara.

Most conventional sausages and processed meats contain added nitrates and nitrites as preservatives. More and more families are trying to reduce those ingredients where they can — especially when it comes to food they eat regularly.
That’s why Comfort Farms’ nitrate free sausages have become such a favourite around here. Real pork. Real Beef. Real seasoning. No unnecessary fillers or added nitrates. Just honest food raised locally by Bob and Leslie Comfort right here in Niagara.

Take the $30 Produce Voucher Challenge! 🌱 Good food has the power to change lives. Our $30 Produce Voucher Challenge makes it easy for businesses, families, and community members to put fresh, healthy food into the hands of someone who needs it most. Buy as many vouchers as you’d like, choose exactly where they go—whether it’s a local family, school, charity, employee, client, or simply someone in need—and we’ll take care of the rest. As a thank you, larger contributions receive recognition through our newsletter, website, or social media, but every voucher makes a real difference. Together, we can build a healthier, stronger community—one fresh meal at a time.
|
How It Works
Supporting your community is simple.
Buy one $30 produce voucher and we’ll place it on our voucher wall for someone who needs it. If you buy ten or more, you can direct exactly where they go. Every voucher still turns into fresh food for a local family. Simple, tangible, immediate.

Our Pick & Pack line was built for real life. Fresh fruit and vegetables at prices that actually make sense — because we work hard to move food, reduce waste, and keep good food accessible for more families.
How does it work? You grab a red 1/2 bushel basket, walk the section, and fill it with what your household will actually eat. No subscriptions. No pressure. Just affordable, fresh food in a way that feels simple again. Some weeks it’s farm fresh, some weeks it’s rescue food, some weeks it’s both — but the goal is always the same: keep good food moving through the community instead of watching it get
priced out or thrown away.
